Electric MEAG Power is a public generation and transmission corporation providing power to 49 Georgia communities that in turn bring energy to approximately 600,000 citizens. As the third largest power supplier in the state, energy sales exceeded $703 million in 2005. MEAG Power has assets of over $4.8 billion, co-owns four generating plants with a generating capacity of 2,069 megawatts, and co-owns Georgia's Integrated Transmission System (ITS). Every residential owner, agent or occupant in the city shall provide a container with a tightfitting cover of such size as to be easily handled. All garbage should be placed in plastic liners inside the container. The Sanitation department will remove the garbage on the designated day for each respective area in the city. Please call the City of Buford at 770-945-6761 for the removal schedule. Items not collected by the Sanitation department are: tires, batteries, paint cans, rocks, dirt, brick, carpet, or building materials. Have your septic system inspected and pumped at least once every three to five years. 2. Never dump anything down a storm drain or a drainage ditch. 3. Recycle motor oil and other vehicle fluids. 4. Throw litter in its place. 5. Clean up after your pet. 6. Compost yard clippings. 7. Wash your vehicle on your lawn rather than on pavement. 8. Tell a friend or neighbor about how to prevent pollution and get involved in your community.
